Sustainability

The 2020-2025 Sustainability Strategy is our responsibility to create an effective plan for environmental care, safety and social responsibility. Sustainability is one of our core values that we live by every day. As we engage with our local community, caring for each other, we are also mindful of the importance of our actions having a positive impact on the planet.

SAFETY AT WORK

The safety of our employees and all visitors to the site is our top priority. We want to make sure that every person entering our premises is safe.

CONCERN FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

We are aware of our responsibility and of the impact of our activities on the environment around us. We comply with all the applicable legislation. We carefully and diligently analyse and measure our activities that may affect the environment and the use of natural resources.

CSR ACTIVITIES

We are socially responsible. We engage in initiatives to support the local community. We actively participate in nationwide campaigns to help others. By educating the youngest, we shape the correct patterns of ecological behaviour.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

We measure our carbon footprint. In 2023 the carbon footprint was just over 50gCO2 per square meter of finished product produced. This means that we reduced our emissions year-on-year by about 14%. In 2024 we plan to implement further measures to help us reduce this level even further.

We meet the UN goals

Our actions are in line with the principles of the '2030 Agenda for the SDGs' which was adopted in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly. It is a signpost for us on how to act and what to do in order to contribute to taking care of our planet.

Environmental protection

Netbox is constantly taking steps to reduce the environmental impact of its activities. Our measures start at the stage of design and selection of technology and continue throughout the entire life cycle of the packaging until it has to be managed as waste.

The first steps are already taken during discussions with customers to whom we present the possibility of producing 100% recyclable packaging using raw materials that are also recycled.

n the subsequent stages, including the choice of design technology and graphics, we always try to select packaging that is suited to the product inside. Additionally, we adapt the cardboard sheet in such a way as to reduce production waste as much as possible.

100% of the waste cardboard generated is recycled so that the raw material can be reused.

We hold all the necessary environmental permits and licences, which are updated whenever it is required.

We are also successful in reducing the negative impact on the environment by

Reducing the amount of waste generated through innovative technologies and changes

Reducing the amount of electricity and gas consumed by appropriately adjusting the systems installed and by installing a heat recovery system

Reducing dust and gas emissions to the environment by using the most environmentally friendly raw materials possible

Production waste management – all production waste is managed in accordance with the currently applicable legislation. Our customers are constantly monitored for the permits they hold and the manner in which they manage the waste they collect.

We continuously test the quality of sewage and waste water discharged into the ground. The results are analysed and communicated to interested parties.

9.

We focus our energy demand measures on renewable energy sources. We have built a 50kW photovoltaic system. We will soon commission another, much larger one with a capacity of nearly 2MW. But that is not all; we are still looking for more opportunities to use renewable energy in our company.
